Bamboo Paper App

I've been playing around with various apps on my iPad. The Bamboo Paper app is great, albeit very limited. The color pallette has only nine muted colors, and no concentrated primary ones. It takes six to eight strokes to deepen the value of the muted color. With some practice you get the hang of it. The drawing tool is also limited to three thicknesses and has nine colors from which to choose.

Now the complaints. A photo can be imported allowing you to draw or color on it. However, be careful when using the stylus. If you tap the screen too hard you'll unintentionally move the photo and your editing marks won't match up. An improvement would be the ability to lock the photo in place while editing.

I have also noticed that occasionally the app freezes up and I have to reboot the iPad to get it working. There are times when the app has problems integrating with other apps, but usually I can get it working with a little effort.

You won't be able to do detailed work, but the app will allow you to sketch out ideas and make notes. It's a lot of fun to see how far you can push to app to accomplish a nice drawing.
